Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) have released the first list of candidates for Jharkhand Assembly Elections. JMM has released the name of 35 candidates, while RJD has released name of six candidates.
Chief Minister and Executive President of JMM Hemant Soren will contest from Barhet seat while Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto has been given ticket from Nala constituency. Kalpana Soren will fight from Gandey seat.
On the other hand, State RJD Chief Sanjay Kumar Singh Yadav has been given ticket from Hussainabad constituency and Former Minister Suresh Paswan will contest from Deoghar seat. This time the Party has not given ticket to Satyanand Bhokta, who is minister in Hemant Soren cabinet. The RJD has given ticket to his daughter-in-Law from Chatra constituency. In seat sharing formula of I.N.D.I.A block, 70 seats were given to Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Congress, while 11 seats were given to RJD and CPI-M. Congress has released the name of 21 candidates. The CPI-ML has not yet officially released the name of party candidates.
Assembly elections in Jharkhand are being held in two phases. The first phase of polling will take place on 13th November, while the second phase is on 20th November. Counting of votes will be taken up on 23rd November.
