J&K's export hub: 75 products enlisted for exports in International markets

In Jammu and Kashmir, to make each district a hub for exports, the UT administration has enlisted the products, which are produced from every district and has a huge potential in the international market. Under the “District as Export Hub Scheme” (DEHS) at least 75 products have been enlisted from 20 district of J&K, which have a huge potential of exports in the International markets. In Kashmir valley, 43 such products including a cricket bat, walnut, Mushkbudji rice, honey, red chillies, trout fish, black cumin, crewel-based shawls, Kani shawl, sozni shawls, wicker willow, Red rice, saffron, apple, walnut wood carving, silk, silk carpet, strawberry, chain stitch leather, pashmina, bakery products, paper machie and copperware have been enlisted by the industries and commerce department from different districts of the Kashmir valley to be promoted under the District as Export Hub Scheme.

Similarly, from the Jammu division about 32 products including Basmati rice, mushrooms, bamboo, pickle, walnut, Rajmah, honey, Chikri Woodcraft and other products have been enlisted under the scheme. All these products which have been enlisted will get due promotions so that their export is enhanced. The Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion organization is working to promote all these products, which are produced in bulk from each district of J&K. Many among these products have a good reputation in the international market, the Government is working to promote the rest under the scheme.
