In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Two Construction workers died while five others got injured after they got buried under a landslide near Main Bagh area of Udhampur today.

The incident occurred when about 11 construction workers who were engaged in construction work of Private building came under a landslide suddenly.  After getting the information, the Police Party of Police Station Udhampur along with NDRF and CRPF personnel rushed to the spot and launched massive search and rescue operations.

Five Persons were rescued alive and shifted to Associated Government College Hospital/ District Hospital Udhampur for treatment. Two Dead bodies have been recovered from the debris of the landslide so far. 

Rescue operations are currently underway. It is believed that heavy rainfall in the region over the past few days may have contributed to the unstable ground conditions, triggering the unfortunate event.
