J&K Sikh Coordination Committee delegation calls on LG Manoj Sinha

A delegation from the Sikh Coordination Committee Jammu and Kashmir, led by Chairman S. Ajit Singh, called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Raj Bhawan in Jammu today. The delegation submitted a charter of demands highlighting several key concerns of the Sikh community in the Union Territory.

 

Among the issues raised were the inclusion of the eligible Sikh population in the Pahari ethnic group, the promotion of the Punjabi language, and the installation of a statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh in Srinagar. Additionally, the Committee Chairman highlighted the need for land allotment for the reconstruction of the Gurudwara Sahib in the historical village of Ser Manjla, Ramnagar in Udhampur.

 

During the meeting, Mr Singh also expressed gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor and the UT Administration for their sincere efforts to address the community’s concerns with sensitivity. The Lieutenant Governor assured the delegation that appropriate action would be taken to resolve the issues raised during the discussion.
