In Jammu and Kashmir, an Artificial Intelligence-based facial recognition system was installed at the Navyug Tunnel in Qazigund on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway (NH44). Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the AI system will identify and track individuals involved in criminal activities, including history-sheeters, drug peddlers, OGWs (overground workers), absconders, and members of banned organisations. The implementation of the AI-based facial recognition system marks a pivotal role in the region’s commitment to ensuring public safety and combating crimes effectively.
