J&K: Focus Shifts to Langate as Campaigning Intensifies for 3rd Phase of Assembly Elections on October 1

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the focus has now shifted to the third phase of Assembly elections after the successful and incident-free elections yesterday.

 

Langate is the Assembly Constituency going to polls in this phase, for which polling is scheduled to take place on October 1. After the successful conduct of the elections in the second phase yesterday, the campaigning is now gaining momentum in the areas where polling is scheduled for October 1 in the 3rd phase. A total of 40 Assembly constituencies will go to polls in the phase, among which Langate happens to be a key Assembly constituency.

 

In the constituency, there are a total of 1,20,493 voters, which include 60,164 male and 60,326 female voters. ECI has established 143 polling stations in Langate Assembly Constituency where 15 candidates of various parties are in the fray. The prominent candidates are Irfan Sultan Panditpori of the People’s Conference and Khurshid Ahmad Sheikh of the Awami Itehad Party, who is the brother of Lok Sabha Member Parliament Engineer Radhid.

 

All the necessary arrangements have been made by the Election Commission to ensure smooth elections in the constituency.
