J&K faces dry spell with heat wave warning, light rain expected after May 1

In Jammu and Kashmir, the weatherman has predicted a dry spell for the next couple of days and has said that there is a possibility of a heat wave at a few places across the Union Territory for the next few days. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the Meteorological department said that the weather is expected to remain generally dry from today up to May 01, and there is a possibility of light rain and thundershower at isolated places on May 02 and May 03. The weather department has, however, stated that there is a possibility of generally hot & dry weather over Jammu division with heat waves at isolated places for the next few days. The Met department has asked people to stay hydrated & drink plenty of water, fluid & stay indoors and avoid working in the open during peak hours (12-3 PM). A significant rise in day temperatures is expected from today, and the farmers are advised to resume farming or spraying operations from today onwards.
