J&K: Chief Electoral Officer P.K Pole visits Doda district to oversee preparations for forthcoming LS Polls

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), P.K Pole today visited Doda district to oversee preparations for the forthcoming Lok Sabha Elections.

 

Our Correspondent reports that the visit encompassed various activities like inspection of polling centers, model polling stations, and intermediate strong rooms. The CEO inspected strong rooms at the district headquarters and emphasized adherence to Election Commission guidelines.

 

He also chaired a meeting with all stakeholders and reviewed arrangements related to elections. He stressed on the importance of strict adherence to guidelines, timelines for the Model Code of Conduct and media monitoring. The CEO urged all stakeholders to maximize voter turnout through door-to-door campaigns under the SVEEP initiative. He also directed the formation of booth-level committees and emphasized on expenditure monitoring meetings. 

 

The CEO directed stakeholders to adhere to the Election Seizure Management System (ESMS) for real-time updates. As part of the SVEEP campaign, a rangoli competition was organized at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School Doda to raise awareness about voting rights. The Doda district has around 529 polling centers and 9 model polling stations in the district.
