J&K: Annual pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra is going on smoothly

In the Kashmir Valley, the annual sacred pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji in south Kashmir Himalayas is going on smoothly from the twin tracks of Nunwan-Pahalgam in Anantnag district and Domail-Baltal in Ganderbal district.
 
As per the reports last came in, over 9,000 Yatris paid their obeisance at Shri Amarnath Ji cave today subsequently taking the cumulative total of pilgrims having performed the darshan of the naturally formed Ice Shiv Lingam of Lord Shiva at Shri Amarnathji Cave to almost one lakh forty-seven thousand till this evening since its commencement on July 1, amid tight security cover.
 
The pilgrims on the Yatra routes chanting "Har Har Mahadev" and singing "Shiv Bhajans" was resonating the air and were seen as enthusiastic and quite eager to catch a glimpse of Lord Shiva at the holy cave shrine. Earlier today, a batch of over seven thousand eight hundred Yatris left Bhagwati Nagar base camp in the wee hours today towards Kashmir Valley in a cavalcade of 339 vehicles.
 
Meanwhile, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today visited the Nunwan Base camp in Pahalgam and reviewed the arrangements for the ongoing Shri Amarnathji Yatra. Mr Bhatnagar interacted with the devotees, service providers, officers of various line departments as well as representatives of security agencies and took stock of logistics, lodging, health and other facilities for the smooth facilitation of pilgrims.
 
The Advisor also interacted with the camp administrators, medical staff, and volunteers involved in managing the pilgrimage. He commended their dedication and hard work in ensuring the smooth operation of the Yatra. He emphasised the importance of maintaining a high level of sanitation as well as cleanliness in the camp for a safe and comfortable experience for the devotees thronging the region to pay obeisance to Lord Shiva at Shri Amarnath Ji Cave Shrine.
