Despite increasing age, elections seem to bring renewed hope for senior citizens who have been regular when it comes to casting their vote. Voting is not just a privilege or fundamental right but a duty for them. Bela Ram – a 93-year-old native of Reasi in Jammu and Kashmir cast his vote for the first time in 1951 and has not missed any general elections since then.
He urged all the voters to exercise their franchise and hailed the Election Commission for taking several initiatives to enable elderly persons to cast their votes.
