In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in south Kashmir Himalayas has been suspended as a precautionary measure today due to heavy overnight drizzle along both the Yatra routes.
The Yatra has been suspended along the Pahalgam route in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district and from shortest but steep Baltal route in Ganderbal district.
However, the Chopper services were continuing normally till the reports last came in.
More than 4,000 Yatris are camping in the Nunwan Base Camp along traditional Pahalgam route. The Yatris in the Base Camp were seen enjoying and chanting Bum Bum Bole, Har Har Mahadev and taking part in singing Shiv Bhajans and other Vedic Hymns.
Tomorrow in the wee hours when the weather improves, the Yatris shall be allowed to proceed for their onward sojourn towards the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine.
