As part of the ongoing efforts of J&K AIDS Control Society (JKACS) in controlling HIV/AIDS in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, a five-kilometre run for creating awareness on HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) was organised today in collaboration with the Department of Students Welfare, University of Kashmir. This activity forms part of the two-month-long intensified IEC campaign launched on 12th August 2024 all over the country to enhance knowledge and create awareness about HIV and STIs amongst the general masses.
The activity started with the flagging off of a 5-kilometre running competition called ‘Red Run’ that started from Nishat Foreshore Road to Gandhi Bhawan, University of Kashmir.
It was followed by a 2 KMS walkathon in which more than two hundred students, including boys and girls from different colleges, NGOs, and university staff, participated.
