In Jammu and Kashmir, the 77th Independence Day was celebrated with full zeal, enthusiasm and patriotism today amid high-level security arrangements. A multi-layer security arrangement duly backed by ground and aerial surveillance was put in place across the Union Territory to thwart any untoward incident during the Independence Day celebrations.
The main function in Jammu region was held at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu where Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, hoisted the national flag and took salute of the marching contingent and addressed the gathering. The Advisor said, J&K has witnessed the rise of a new era in the last four years which promises harmony, development and affluence and has undertaken a journey towards peace, progress, and prosperity. He said, notable advancements have been made in establishing new enterprises and the agricultural sector.
