In Jammu and Kashmir, more than 1400 polling stations in the 4-Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency will be equipped with webcasting facilities which is going to polls in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections tomorrow. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that a total of 1472 polling stations out of 2637 will be equipped with webcasting facilities in the Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency.
More than 16.23 lakh voters will decide the fate of 12 candidates, including Union Minister Jitendra Singh, in the fray from the constituency. Eighteen Assembly segments spanning five districts of Kishtwar, Doda, Ramban, Udhampur and Kathua constitute this seat.
The constituency, which was reshaped with three assembly constituencies of Reasi district carved out on the recommendations of the delimitation commission, had recorded 70.2 per cent polling in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. It has 16, 23, 195 eligible voters including 8, 45, 283 male, 7, 77, 899 female and 13 third-gender voters. To facilitate seamless voting, a total of 2637 polling stations including 2457 in rural areas and 180 in urban areas have been set up including 701 in Kathua, 654 in Udhampur, 529 in Doda, 405 in Kishtwar and 348 in Ramban.
