J&K: 12th batch of 72,00 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims left Jammu base camp

In Jammu and Kashmir, amid tight security arrangements, the 12th batch of over 72,00 Amarnath Yatra pilgrims left the Jammu base camp in the early hours today for the twin base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam in Kashmir. Akashvani Jammu Correspondent reports that a total of 7,245 pilgrims left the Bhagwati Nagar base camp Jammu for Kashmir valley in a cavalcade of 266 vehicles under tight security arrangements today. Among them, 3144 pilgrims preferred the shortest Baltal track while 4101 opted for the traditional and longest Nunwan-Pahalgam route. With this, 72,789 pilgrims have now departed the Jammu base camp for the Kashmir Valley since 30th June. So far a total of 1, 62, 569 pilgrims have visited the Amarnath shrine since 1st July.
