Jharkhand: Several districts rain deficit by more than 35%, Farmers facing drought like situation

In Jharkhand, several districts are rain deficit by more than 35 percent in this monsoon. Farmers are facing drought like situation and there has been less than 10 percent of sowing of paddy crops. The State agriculture department has made measures for drought situation in 13 selected districts including Palamu, Garhwa, Godda, Dumka, and Chatra. Although, the Regional Meteorological Centre in Ranchi has predicted heavy rainfall in some parts of Jharkhand in the coming three to four days. Meanwhile, there has been dismal rainfall across the state. The highest rainfall recorded yesterday is 53 mm in the West Singhbhum district.
