In Jharkhand schools from KG to  12th class have been closed till 15th of this month due to prevailing intense heat across the state.

Maximum temperature of 45.4 degree celcius was recorded in Palamu region of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature in most of the districts is beyond 40 degree celcius and  red alert have been issued.
