The National Investigation Agency (NIA) yesterday conducted extensive raids in Jharkhand as part of an ongoing investigation into extortion and a coal mine attack. The searches took place at three locations in the Hazaribagh and Ranchi districts. During the raids, digital devices, a Fortuner vehicle, and other incriminating materials were seized from the premises of several suspects. These actions are linked to a case involving an attack on the Tetariyakhand coal mine in Latehar district in December 2020. The attack was orchestrated as part of a conspiracy to extort money and disrupt government operations. The NIA took over the investigation in March 2021 and has since charge-sheeted 24 individuals. In February this year, the agency arrested Shankar Yadav, a key associate of Aman Sahu during searches at five locations in Bihar.
