Jharkhand Bypoll: JMM's candidate Bebi Devi wins Dumri assembly seat by 17100 votes

In Jharkhand, the Cabinet Minister for Excise Department and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) candidate Bebi Devi has won the Dumri assembly constituency seat by defeating her nearest rival Yashoda Devi of NDA alliance by a margin of over 17100 votes.
 
The bye-election was necessitated due to death of former State Education Minister Jagarnath Mahto. The wife of the Late Jagarnath Mahto, Bebi Devi thanked the people of Dumri for extending their support through a large number of votes. She said that she would complete the remaining developmental works of her late husband.
 
JMM candidate Bebi Devi got 1,35,480 votes while AJSU Party candidate Yashoda Devi got 1,18,380 votes. Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated the winning candidate and assured to continue the developmental works carried out in the state.
