In Ladakh, an "Amrit Kalash Yatra" was organised by Jawahar Navodyaya Vidyalaya Khumbathang, Kargil under the campaign "Meri Maati Mera Desh". Around 200 students, teachers, and parents participated in the yatra.
The main objective of this yatra was to create awareness about this campaign that aims to emotionally connect every individual, family, and citizen with the idea of creating a great India together. The "Meri Maati Mera Desh" campaign was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his "Mann ki Baat" programme.
During this yatra, the "AMRIT KALASH" filled with the soil of the Vidyalaya as well as the soil brought by parents from different villages and areas of Kargil district was carried by the students.
This Amrit Kalash will be handed over to D.C. Kargil which will be sent to New Delhi. It is pertinent to mention that the soil collected from across the nation will be used to construct "Amrit Vatika" in New Delhi.
