Japan Open: India's Lakshya Sen to meet Kanta Tsuneyama and H.S. Prannoy play against Kidambi Srikanth in Men's Singles pre-quarterfinals tomorrow

In Badminton, India's Lakshya Sen will meet Kanta Tsuneyama of Japan and H.S. Prannoy play against Kidambi Srikanth in the Men's Singles pre-quarterfinals of Japan Open in Tokyo tomorrow.
 
Lakshya Sen beat his compatriot Priyanshu Rajawat 21-15, 12-21, 24-22 to seal his place in the second round today. Kidambi Srikanth prevailed over Taiwan's Chou Tien-chen and H.S. Prannoy defeated World No. 5 Li Shifeng of China yesterday.
 
The red-hot men's doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty also advanced to the round of 16. They defeated the Indonesian pair of Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin 21-16, 11-21, 21-13. Rankireddy and Shetty will play against Jeppe Bay and Lasse Moelhede both of Denmark in the round of 16.
 
In Women's Doubles, India's top duo of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand also entered the second round defeating locals Yui Suizu and Sayaka Hobara. The duo will take on Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida both of Japan in the second round.
 
In the Women's Singles category, Indian ace PV Sindhu bowed out in the first round today. She was defeated by China's Zhang Yiman 21-12,21-13.
