On the second day of the weeklong celebrations of Jan Aushadhi Diwas titled Jan Aushadhi – Virasat Ke Saath, heritage walks were conducted today at 25 places across the country. It was organised to spread the message of health and wealth with Jan Aushadhi. In Delhi, it was held at Hauz Khas.
As part of the Diwas, health camps were also organised at Jan Aushadhi Kendras at 500 different locations in the country. A wide range of medical tests were conducted at these health camps. Yesterday, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilisers Jagat Prakash Nadda inaugurated the weeklong celebrations of Jan Aushadhi Diwas, 2025, by flagging off vehicles carrying information about Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana-PMBJP in New Delhi.
At the initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the 7th of March is celebrated every year as “Jan Aushadhi Diwas” with a view to enhancing awareness about the scheme and promoting generic medicines. Presently, more than 15 thousand Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been opened across the country, covering all the districts. Under the scheme, the government has set a target to open 25 thousand Jan Aushadhi Kendras by 31st March 2027, across the country.
