In Jammu and Kashmir, the BSF troops killed an intruder and thwarted an infiltration bid yesterday night at Regal post along the International Border in Samba district. The body of the intruder was retrieved from the spot today. Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that Inspector General, of Border Security Force, D K Boora during his visit to a forward post in Samba district today said the intruder killed last night might have been sent to carry out reconnaissance of the area and test the alertness of troops for a potential infiltration attempt. Mr. Boora said that had the intruder succeeded in sneaking in from across the border, others who might have been observing him would have followed him. Lauding the troops for their alertness, the IG said, such actions also serve to demoralise the enemy.
