In Gujarat, Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil inaugurated the state’s first semiconductor assembly and testing outsourced plant at Surat yesterday. On this occasion, C.R. Patil said that Gujarat will become a global hub for semiconductor production, which is considered the most important raw material for electronic production. Our correspondent reports that Surat’s Suthi Semicon has set up a plant at Bagumra in Palsana taluka, investing 840 crore rupees. The plant will produce three lakh semiconductor chips per day. Electronic chip production has already started in this plant.
