J&K: Suspected militant hideout busted; Two Tiffin IEDs recovered in Mendhar

In Jammu and Kashmir, Police, CRPF and the Army today busted a suspected militant hideout and recovered two Tiffin improvised explosive devices (IEDs) in the Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district. A joint search operation by Police, Rashtriya Rifles and 246 battalion CRPF from the forest area of Sanai-Gursai in the Mendhar sub-division of Poonch district led to the busting of a suspected militant hideout and further recovery of two tiffin IEDs each weighing 3 kgs, one steel can IED, electric wire, batteries, medicine and clothes. The IED was found hidden in a cavity covered by boulders, and a bomb disposal squad was called to neutralise it. No one has been arrested so far in connection with this matter.

 

 
A police official said that the explosive devices were kept wrapped in polythene bags and there was also input about the presence of three armed militants. The IEDs have been destroyed in a controlled manner. Search operation of the area is still going on and details are awaited.
