J&K: Annual Amarnath Yatra is going on smoothly; Total of 1,52,946 pilgrims visited holy cave since commencement of Yatra

In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,  the annual 52-day Yatra in south Kashmir Himalayas located at an altitude of 3888 metres from the sea level is going on smoothly with more and more pilgrims reaching Jammu and  Kashmir to undertake this year’s Yatra.

 
On the seventh day of darshan yesterday, 21,686 pilgrims paid their obeisance to the naturally formed Ice Shivlingam of Lord Shiva at the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji.
 
 
With this figure, a total of 1,52,946 pilgrims visited holy cave from different parts of country since the commencement of the Yatra on June 29 this year.
 
The weather remained overcast with clouds in the entire Yatra area yesterday and in the evening it dizzled at holy cave and Yatra area. However,  the pilgrimage plied smoothly throughout the day.
 
 
Meanwhile, a fresh batch of 5,876 Shri Amaranth ji Yatris left the Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp in Jammu in the wee hours today towards Kashmir Valley in a cavalcade of 245 vehicles amid tight security arrangements.
