In the Indian Premier League (IPL) T20 Cricket, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Hosts Chennai Super Kings by eight wickets at their home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last night.
Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Ajinkya Rahane won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first. However, MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings had no response to Kolkata’s aggressive bowling attack and could manage to score only 103 runs for 9 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
For Kolkata, spinner Sunil Narine bagged three wickets, while Varun Chakaravarthy and Hrashit Rana picked two wickets each. In reply, the visitors easily chased the score in 11th over with opener Sunil Narine posting 44 off just 18 balls. For Chennai, Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad got one wicket each. Sunil Narine was declared Player of the Match for his all-round performance.
Today, Lucknow Super Giants will host Gujarat Titans in Lucknow from 3:30 PM. While in the second clash of the day, Punjab Kings will face home team Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad. The match will begin at 07:30 PM.
