IPL T20: CSK defeat MI by 4 wickets

In the IPL T20, Chennai Super Kings defeated Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai last night. Sent in to bat first, Mumbai Indians faced a dismal start as Rohit Sharma was dismissed for a four-ball duck by Khaleel Ahmed followed by quick dismissals of Ryan Rickelton and Will Jacks. With the faltering of the top order, stand-in captain Suryakumar Yadav (29) and Tilak Varma (31) managed to stabilise the innings with a 51-run partnership. The turning point came when debutant Noor Ahmad wreaked havoc with his mystery spin, taking 4 wickets for 18 runs and dismantling Mumbai Indians’s middle order. Khaleel Ahmed also impressed with the figures of 3 wickets for 29 runs. Deepak Chahar’s 28 not out off 15 balls pushed Mumbai Indians to a somewhat competitive score of 155 for 9.
