In IPL Cricket, Chennai Super Kings clinched a five wicket win over Rajasthan Royals in a low scoring thriller to brighten their IPL playoffs qualification chances at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai this evening. Chasing 142 runs for a win, Chennai scored 145 with 10 balls to spare. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad remained unbeaten on 42. Ravindra Jadeja became the third batter in IPL history to be adjudged out after obstructing the field. Rajasthan’s Ravichandran Ashwin took two wickets and Nandre Burger and Yuzvendra Chahal shared one each.
Earlier, Rajasthan Captain Sanju Samson electing to bat first made 141 runs losing five wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Rajasthan’s Riyan Parag remained not out on 47. For Chennai, Simarjeet Singh took three wickets and Tushar Deshpande captured two. Yesterday, Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Mumbai Indians by 18 runs in Kolkata and sealed a playoff berth in a rain-curtailed match.
In another match being played between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Delhi Capitals at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, put into bat, Bengaluru set a target of 188 runs for Delhi losing nine wickets in 20 overs.
