The Assistant High Commission of India AHCI in Kandy, Sri Lanka marked International Women’s Day with a vibrant celebration at Sahas Uyuana, attended by 400 women from diverse backgrounds. The event featured various activities, such as a dance performance, breast cancer awareness, and an empowerment session by Revlon. The AHCI extended support to para-athlete Ms. Janani Dananjana and distributed uniforms to female vendors. Fuel coupons were given to female Tuk drivers. Assistant High Commissioner Dr. Athira S., joined by influential speakers like Ms. Niranjani Shanmugaraja, emphasized women’s empowerment. The celebration included a medical screening camp and an Ayurveda Medical Camp benefiting hundreds of women.
