Today is International Literacy Day. This Day is celebrated on the 8th of September every year to remind everyone of the importance of literacy for individuals, communities and societies. This year the theme for International Literacy Day is ‘Promoting multilingual education: Literacy for mutual understanding and peace’. Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of India, organized International Conference ‘Spectrum of Literacy’ on the eve of International Literacy Day yesterday. The conference was aimed at providing a platform to explore the diverse aspects of literacy in today’s world, engaging both national and international experts in meaningful discussions.
