International Inter-University Jay Nepal Cup tournament kicks off at Kathmandu

 

The International Inter-University Jay Nepal Cup tournament that kicked off in the Kirtipur cricket ground of Kathmandu was inaugurated by the first president of Nepal, Dr Ram Baran Yadav. The Jay Cup is contested by eight Universities from India, Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. The inaugural session was attended by senior political leaders, members of the Nepal Students Union, members of the Cricket Association of Nepal, professors and students from different universities and hundreds of cricket fans. 
A total of eight universities will be participating in the tournament. Three universities from India, Delhi University, Lucknow University and Bhim Rao Ambedkar University, are participating in the tournament. Likewise, the University of Dhaka from Bangladesh and four other universities from Nepal, Purbanchal University, Kathmandu University, Midwestern University and Tribhuvan University. 
 The first match of the tournament took place today between Tribhuvan University Nepal and The International Inter-University Jay Nepal Cup tournament kicks off today, with TU winning the first match against Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar Bihar University, India where Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar University won the toss and chose to bat. TU won today’s match. 
The grand finale of the tournament will be held on 28 January. Where the winning team will get 15,00,000 NPR, medals and trophies, likewise the first runner-up will get 10,00,000 NPR, Medals and trophies.
