Ahead of the International Literacy day, School Education and Literacy Secretary, Sanjay Kumar chaired an international conference on Spectrum of Literacy in New Delhi today. The conference aimed at bringing together global and national experts, educators, policymakers, and literacy advocates to explore the diverse and evolving dimensions of literacy in today’s world.
While addressing the conference, Mr. Kumar said that the ‘Understanding Lifelong Learning for All Society’ initiative is a framework to bring down the literacy gap between the urban and rural population and between male and females. Highlighting this year’s theme of Promoting Literacy through multilingualism, he added that one of the central pillars of National Education Policy 2020 is multilingualism.
