The International Buddhist Confederation (IBC) will celebrate Ashadha Purnima as the Dharma Chakra Pravartana Divas at the National Museum in New Delhi on 3rd July 2023, Monday. The programme will feature a video address by President Droupadi Murmu. A film on IBC's special project India International Centre for Buddhist Culture and Heritage in Lumbini, Nepal will also be screened.

The celebrations aim to honor the historical legacy of India as the land of Buddha's enlightenment and his teachings. Ashadha Purnima marks the day when Lord Buddha gave his first sermon in Sarnath, Varanasi, setting the wheel of dharma in motion.
