Indigenous wireless chargers for electric vehicles with the ability to charge 90 percent of the battery in three hours will become a reality soon. CDAC and VNIT Nagpur’s technology has been transferred to an Indian firm to develop commercially.
The secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, S. Krishnan, announced the signing of the transfer of technology and a memorandum of understanding among industries for the commercialisation of technologies developed under the National Mission on Power Electronics Technology in New Delhi today. The secretary said research must lead to real-world applications with industry collaboration. He stressed indigenisation in power electronics to boost Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat goals.
