India’s Wrestler Chirag to Face Kyrgyzstan’s Abdymalik Karachov in Men’s 57 kg Freestyle Final at U23 Wrestling World Championship 2024

In wrestling, India’s grappler Chirag will take on Kyrgyzstan’s Abdymalik Karachov in the final of the Men’s 57 kg Freestyle category at the Under 23 Wrestling World Championship 2024 in Tirana, Albania today.

 

The 18 year old defeated the Kazakhstani wrestler Allan Oralbek, 8-NIL in the semi-final last night. With this victory, Chirag has become the 3rd Indian to reach the finals in the 57 Kg, after Ravi Dahiya and Aman Sehrawat.

 

Meanwhile, Sujeet in the 70 kg category and Vicky in the 97 kg catogry will participate in the bronze medal matches today. Sujeet faced a defeat to Magomedov Bashir Khaniev of Azerbaijan, 4-8, while Vicky lost to Mahdi Moharamali Hajiloueian Morafah 8-12 in the semi-finals last night.

 

Earlier, Abhishek has clinched the Bronze medal, he defeated Mykyta Abramov of Ukraine, 3-NIL in the Men’s 61 Kg Freestyle category, yesterday.

 

As the championship enters its final day, India has already bagged six medals includes one silver and five bronze and is poised to add more. With Chirag guaranteed a podium finish and other wrestlers vying for bronze today.
