Minister of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, participated in the Singapore Maritime Week, where he joined global maritime leaders to discuss, deliberate, and devise strategies aimed at creating a secure, sustainable, and prosperous maritime future. During his address, the minister highlighted the challenges facing the sector and outlined India’s vision to promote the growth of maritime activities.
He emphasised the importance of strengthening maritime connectivity and supply chains while advocating for collective action towards a green and sustainable maritime future. Mr. Sonowal also underscored India’s maritime vision, rooted in the principle of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, which promotes collaboration and shared prosperity. Additionally, Mr Sonowal held discussions with key Singaporean ministers to strengthen bilateral maritime and trade relations. He also engaged with his counterparts from France, the Netherlands, Norway, and Portugal to address global maritime trends at the event.
