India’s forex reserves surged by 2.83 billion dollars to touch new lifetime high of USD 692.29 

India’s foreign exchange reserves surged by 2.83 billion dollars to touch a new lifetime high of 692.29 billion dollars in the week ending the 20th of September. The data showed that foreign currency assets, a major part of the overall foreign exchange reserves, increased by 2.057 billion dollars to 605.686 billion dollars. In the previous week, the reserves had increased by 223 million dollars to 689.458 billion dollars. Gold reserves also increased by 726 million dollars during the week to reach 63.61 billion dollars. The country’s special drawing rights with the International Monetary Fund went up by 121 million dollars to reach 18.54 billion dollars.
