India’s forex reserves hit an all-time high in the week ended on 5th of this month. According to data released by the Reserve Bank of India on Friday (12th July 2024), the stockpile grew by 5.2 billion Dollar to 657.16 billion Dollar in that week. Earlier, the reserves had touched an all-time high of US Dollar 655.8 billion as on 7th of last month this year.
Meanwhile, Foreign currency assets, a major component of the reserves, increased 4.2 billion dollar to 577 billion dollar, as per the the data. Gold reserves increased 904 million dollars while the Special Drawing Rights were up 21 million dollar during the week, the apex bank data showed.
