India’s equity benchmark indices extends losing streaks for 3rd session

India’s equity benchmark indices extended their losing streaks for third straight session following the uncertainties before the US Fed meeting this month. In the early morning deals, domestic indices opened downside with Nifty50 touching an intra-day low of 24,081 and Sensex logging an intra-day low of 80,981.

 

At close, the Sensex declined 1017 points or 1.24 percent to settle at 81,184, and Nifty-50 dropped 276 points or 1.1 percent at 24,869.

 

In the Forex market, Indian rupee appreciated by two paise at 83.95 against the US dollar. In the Indian Bullion Market, 24 Karat Gold was trading at 72,150 rupees per 10 Grams, Silver was trading at 85,030 rupees per kilogram,  a short while ago.

 

In the global crude market, Brent crude was trading at 73 dollars and 25 cents per barrel, when report last came in.
