India's competence in Space Science has increased by the performance of Space Sector: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh

Union Minister of State for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that India's competence in Space Science has increased by the performance of the Space Sector. Speaking to the media at Sriharikota today, he said that the space Industry has grown to great heights with the participation of the private industry. The Minister informed that the moon mission had cost 600 crore rupees which will give important results which is will be worth much more. He praised the father of Indian Space Industry Dr.Vikram Sarabhai who had the determination to far reaching strides in the Indian space Industry when there were no resources.
 
Congratulating the scientists he said that it was a proud moment of glory and a moment of destiny. He said India's role as a leading global player in the future can't be undermined. Dr.Jitendra Singh said that India has become an equal partner to the developed countries in this achievement. The Minister said that India was successful in its very first attempt to reach moon and proved to the world that there is water on Moon.

The Chairman of ISRO, Somnath said that LVM 3 has become a trusted heavy vehicle and has proved successful. He informed that the injection from the module will happen on 1st of August and later it will be captured by moon with the separation on the 19th and the Final descent will happen on 23 rd at  5.47 pm. Somnath said that the success of today's mission depended on frequent testing, redesigning and frequent expert reviews. The director acknowledged the contribution of the startups in the space sector and said that 85 percent of today's mission was by Industry and the quality control was done by ISRO.

The Chairman informed that eight of the nine systems in the present mission were by the Industry.
