India’s Benchmark Indices appreciated to hit their fresh record closing levels amid Foreign Fund inflows on Tuesday. In the broader market at the BSE, the Mid-Cap index up by 0.36 percent, while the Small-cap index rose by 0.22 percent.

 

At close, the Sensex up by 391 points, or 0.49 percent, to end at a new closing peak of 80,352.  Nifty rose 113 points, or 0.46 percent, to settle at a record closing high of 24,433.

 

In the forex market, Indian rupee appreciated marginally to end the day at 83 rupees and 49 paisa against US dollar.

 

In Multi Commodity Exchange, Gold prices were trading up today. The precious metal, for August contract, was up by 0.04 percent and trading at 72,365 rupees per 10 grams, whereas Silver for September contract, was up by 0.86 percent and trading at 93,412 rupees per kilogram when the reports last came in.

 

In the Global Crude Market, Brent crude was down by 0.35 percent, to 85 dollars and 45 cents per barrel, when reports last came in.
