In the Indian Super League (ISL) Football, North East United FC defeated East Bengal FC by 4-NIL at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong last night. North East bagged their 10th win of the season, before embarking on their playoffs journey. This was also the first-ever ISL win for them in Shillong. In another match of the day, Mohun Bagan Super Giant outclassed FC Goa by 2-NIL at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata. With this victory, Mohun Bagan remained unbeaten at home this season throughout the league phase.
They also mustered 56 points this season, which is the most in a single ISL campaign. Today, Chennaiyin FC will host Jamshedpur FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai. The match will kick start at 7:30 PM. This is the last league stage match for both teams this season. Jamshedpur have qualified for the playoffs and are placed fifth in the table with 38 points. On the other hand, Chennaiyin is positioned 11th with 24 points.
