Indian standards synonymous with the international standards is PM’s vision- Pralhad Joshi

Consumer Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi today said that in the last 10 years more than one hundred 50 Quality Control Orders for around seven hundred 32 products have been notified by Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS). Speaking on the World Standards Day event in New Delhi, the Minister said that the implementation of National standards have been given the top priority by the Government. Mr Joshi underscored Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for India to be recognised for its best quality and make the Indian standards synonymous with the international standards. He also added that the government is committed to ensure that every citizen of the country has access to safe reliable and high quality products and services.  Speaking to media, The Minister further urged the consumers to use the products with BIS mark.

Minister of State for Consumer Affairs B L Verma highlighted the role of standards in promoting inclusive development, stressing the importance of collaboration between governments, industries, and civil society.
