In the Forex market today, Indian rupee declined 5 paise to end at 83 rupees and 96 paise against the US dollar tracking a strong dollar performance against major currencies overseas and a sluggish trend in domestic equities.

The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, is trading at 101.83 in intra-day trade.
