In the Forex market today, the Indian rupee closes at 83 rupees and 96 paise against the U.S. dollar.

The dollar index, which indicates US dollar’s strength against a basket of six other leading currencies, was marginally up by 0.06 percent at 101.50 in intra-day trade.
