Indian Railways is operating around 20 festival special trains today from Delhi-NCR to various parts of the country. These include special trains to Darbangha, Barauni, Patna, Katra, Muzaffarpur, Balia, Kamakhya, and Azamgarh.
For Chhath Puja, 145 extra special trains are being operated from 2nd to 8th of this month, ensuring smooth travel during key ritual days of Chhath. The Railway is facilitating the movement of an additional two lakh passengers daily, ensuring seamless travel for millions of devotees during these festive occasions.
Indian Railways is operating around seven thousand special trains in view of the festive season to accommodate the significant surge in passenger traffic from 1st October to 30th November. The Railway is set to carry more than one crore passengers during the festive period.
Every year, Railways run special trains during the festive season to facilitate the travel of lakhs of passengers. This year there has been a notable increase of two thousand 800 special trains compared to the previous year. Last year, around four thousand 500 special trains operated during this season.
