Railway has made elaborate crowd control arrangements at all major railway stations to tackle the summer rush. A record number of additional trains are being operated by Railways during this summer season. An official said, Indian Railways has carried over 41 crore passengers from 1st to 21st April and over nine thousand additional trips were made. Senior officers are stationed at major stations to monitor all the activities to regulate the crowd in a systematic manner. The Railway Protection Force, RPF has been deputed at originating stations to ensure a queue system for entry in General Class coaches. Skilled RPF staff have been deployed in the CCTV Control Room to keep a close watch on the crowded areas and render real-time assistance to passengers. Zonal Railways have been instructed to ensure the availability of drinking water at Railway stations.
