Indian Naval Ship ‘Khanjar,’ an indigenous Khukri class Missile Corvette will visit Trincomalee from the 29th of July. During the ship’s three-day visit, the Commanding Officer, will meet with the Commander of the Eastern Naval Area to enhance professional ties. The ship will conduct interactions on special operations such as Visit-Board-Search and Seizure(VBSS), Gunnery, and Missile Operations.
Promoting goodwill, the crew will engage in social activities such as Yoga sessions, beach cleaning, and a visit to a special school in Trincomalee. A reception for military and civil officials is also planned onboard. Additionally, the ship will be open for school children and the public, fostering people-to-people connections. This visit signifies India's commitment to strengthening maritime security cooperation in the region, building on the 'Neighbourhood First' policy and SAGAR doctrine.
