The Indian mixed doubles pair of N Sikki Reddy and B Sumeet Reddy entered the semifinals of the Madrid Spain Masters tournament defeating Indonesian pair 21-14, 11-21, 17-21.

Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu crashed out of women’s singles after putting up a valiant fight against Supanida Katethong of Thailand. While Sindhu bagged the first set 26-24, she lost consecutive sets 17-21, 20-22 to Katethong.

In the Women’s Doubles quarter-finals, the Indian star duo of Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa also bowed out after losing to the Taiwanese pair of Lee Chia-hsin and Teng Chun-hsun 13-21, 19-21.

In men’s doubles quarterfinal, the match between Indian pair of D Kapila and MR Arjun and Malaysian pair of J Arif and Roy King Yap will take place at 8.25 pm. Kapila and Arjun entered the quarterfinals with an impressive triumph over Scottish duo C. Grimley and M. Grimley in straight games.
